In Personizely's widget's text and personalizations you can use dynamic text content to make the content even more relevant.

There are 4 types of placeholders now:

Visitor properties
Querystring parameters
Javascript variables
Datetime placeholders

The placeholders have the following format: _ {%property% or '%fallback text%'}_

The properties are going to be described below, while the fallback text stands for the text in case if the property value is null.

Visitor properties

You can use placeholders to show visitor's properties right in the text of your widgets or personalized regions. Here's the list of the placeholders:

firstName
lastName
phone
email
bio
companyName
companyTitle
country (country code)
countryName
region
city

This placeholder has the following format: {visitor.%property% or 'fallback'}

A good example would be {visitor.countryName or 'your area'}

For custom fields the following structure will be applied: {visitor.customField[%id%] or 'fallback'}

where %id% is the id of the custom field which you can find in Settings -> Custom Fields

Querystring parameters

You can extract text from the url query string parameters to show them in the personalization text. This works really great with ads where you can place the keyword inside the query string.

This placeholder has the following format: {query.%parameter% or 'fallback'}

A good example would be {query.utm_term or 'something generic'}

How to send leads from Personizely to Zapier

Zapier is a great way to get different web apps to work together. You can easily use Webhooks by Zapier to handle the subscriber information Personizely gathers for you. You can transfer first names, surnames, e-mail addresses and URLs to Zapier using their built-in Webhooks application. As a result, there will be no barrier for you to get the subscribers’ data from Personizely.

To connect Zapier and Personizely you’ll need to create a Trigger application that triggers an Action application whenever data from Personizely is transmitted to Zapier.

To generate the Webhook URL at Zapier, please follow these steps:

Log in to your Zapier account. To send data from your Personizely widgets to Zapier, you need to create a Zap. On your Zapier dashboard, click the "Make a Zap" button:

The first step for setting up a trigger is Choose App. In the "Choose a Trigger App" section select the application "Webhooks":

Now, you’ll need to select a trigger action in Choose Trigger. Select "Catch Hook" and click the "Save + Continue" button:

Add Personizely to WordPress / WooCommerce

For most Wordpress users, we have a plugin however if you don't want to use the plugin, you can manually insert the Personizely code.

To install the Wordpress / WooCommerce plugin, please follow these steps:

Choose Plugins > Add new from the menu on the left of the admin page of Wordpress:

Search for "Personizely" in the plugin directory and click istall now:

Integrating Personizely with your email service provider

Using Personizely with Popular Email Services

We integrate with a lot of external email service providers. If you're working with one already, you can link your account with Personizely to seamlessly sync new Personizely contacts over to your existing ESP.

If we don’t integrate with the service you use, you have the option of manually exporting your Personizely contacts and importing them as a CSV file to your ESP.

Follow the steps below to integrate your list building widget with ActiveCampaign.

First, log into ActiveCampaign to begin the process of accessing your API credentials:

How to target visitors by UTM parameters

If you are using UTM tags to track campaigns, you can use the same parameters to target widgets to website visitors coming from particular sources. For example, you can show a widget only to the visitors who have come to the site by clicking a link in your email newsletter or ads campaign.

On the widgets page, find the widget you want to change and click the pencil button to edit it:
