Integrate Dotdigital to Personizely
Follow the steps below to integrate Dotdigital to Personizely:
From your Personizely Dashboard, go to the “Settings” tab:
On the next screen, select the "Integrations" tab:
In the Integrations tab, find Dotdigital and click the "Connect" button:
Go to your Dotdigital Admin Panel, select Settings, and click Access:
Next, you need to select API Users:
Add a New User, then specify the user details(description & password) which will be used to link-up Personizely and Dotdigital:
In the Personizely Dashboard, select your region, then type the user and password that was created in the step above, and click Connect:
Next, you specify the Field Mappings. Please note that you can create Custom Fields in the Personizely Dashboard, and update these Field Mappings later on.
Now, in order to add an automation to a Widget to send the visitor input data to Dotdigital, edit the Contact Form, or the Subscribe form element:
Select Dotdigital, and specify the Action Type:
Congratulations, you've successfully integrated Dotditigal to Personizely and added an automation to send the visitor input data to Dotdigital!
In order for Personizely to identify your Dotdigital subscribers and sync the custom fields assigned to their profile, a connection needs to be established between them and Personizely.
Currently Dotditigal does not provide an option to automatically send the subscriber ID as a parameter when the subscriber clicks through a link added to your email so you'll have to set this up manually.
In order for Personizely to recognize Dotdigital subscribers, a query parameter must be added to any outbound links in your outbound emails directed to your website.
You will have to append the following query parameter to the end of the link to your website:
?dd_cid={{ contact.id }}
Adding this to the end of a link will populate the URL with subscriber’s ID when an email is sent.
Now when a subscriber clicks on the link in your email, Personizely will be able to identify the visitor, and map him to the Contacts in your Dotdigital and sync its data.
